Vestas and Mokpo National Maritime University Sign MOU to Foster Offshore Wind Talent in Korea
SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--Vestas and Mokpo National Maritime University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation (“MMU”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on talent development and ecosystem building for the offshore wind energy industry in South Korea.
The agreement aims to reinforce both parties’ shared commitment to supporting Korea’s energy transition and seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic offshore wind workforce through phased collaboration, with a focus on striving toward global‑standard education for future industry professionals.
Under the MOU, Vestas and MMU will combine Vestas’ world leading offshore wind technology expertise with MMU’s strong educational infrastructure. Through strategic cooperation, the two organizations aim to:
· Promote the sustainable growth of Korea’s offshore wind industry
· Cultivate skilled professionals specializing in offshore wind operation and maintenance (O&M)
· Contribute to local economic development
The partnership aims to explore collaboration in the following areas:
MMU will:
· Focus on cultivating skilled personnel to support the evolving needs of the offshore wind sector and its stakeholders
Vestas will:
· Collaborate on providing industrial insights and advisory support to enhance the offshore wind O&M training programs for MMU students
· Seek to cooperate in facilitating access to relevant digital educational resources and technical information on a phased basis
